An object that arrived from two traditions and found its own form.

The vessel is mouth-blown in Bohemia, its body shaped by breath and gravity alone. Fitted to it is a hand-woven rattan collar, made in our North German studio — a crown of close weave and open-looped rim that rests on the glass in perfect equilibrium, held by form rather than fixture. A collar of pheasant feathers bridges the two, their iridescent fronds softening the join between materials and giving the piece its name.

Each Augury is unique. The glass and rattan are made separately and balanced together; the rattan collar lifts away to allow the vessel to be used as a vase.
