With its sculpted glass topped by curly birch, Poppy is an exquisite vessel.
This delightful piece finds heritage in the refined skills of Bohemian glass cutting and the long rooted tradition of forestry and woodwork in Karelia, Finland.
Poppy can be unstacked to form a bulbous vase with a small opening and a wide wooden bowl.
Designed and prototyped in 2021.

The materials come to our warehouse in Germany where they are fitted and assembled.
Sculpting
SculptingThe surface of Poppy is cut on a diamond wheel.
Cut after cut the surface is shaped, hollowing out the pattern until the whole surface is covered.
finishingTwo types of diamond wheel are used to finish the surface- a rough one to remove material and a fine one to achieve a satin finish.
Finally a nano lacquer is applied to seal the piece.
