India Small
HANDBLOWN GLASS, Czechia/ Handspun metal, uk / Handturned wood, Finland
Elegant and luxurious, India Small is the perfect introduction to our signature Stacking Vessel collection. As a classic three-part design, it exemplifies the harmony between art, craft, and function.
Each India Stacking Vessel can be taken apart into three distinct elements: a hand-blown glass vase, a spun metal bowl, and a turned wooden bowl. These components come together to form a sculptural object that’s as practical as it is visually striking.
India Small is our most accessible and best-value three-part vessel—beloved for its refined proportions and enduring appeal. A consistent bestseller since its inception, it offers a beautiful way to begin or expand a collection of artisan-made, modular design pieces.
Designed and prototyped in 2018.
Permanent Collection.

Metal spinning
Metal spinning is the process of pushing a sheet of metal over a given shape. For this a metal rod is used, lead by the human hand. The metal tool pushes and stretches the metal to go over the desired form.
Lip shaping
Our metal bowls are particularly challenging as they have a freehand turned lip. This lip is used to locate the metal bowl ontop of the glass vase.
Finishing
The surface of our metal bowls is linished, which means it is sanded with fine paper leaving concentric lines on the surface. This surface is finished with a fine antique wax.
We can also oxidise the surface, a process of rapidly ageing the metal to a ripe patina.
