Heiki
HANDBLOWN GLASS, UK/ HANDshaped WOOD, finland/ Brass Wrap, germany
The Heiki vase by Utopia & Utility is a striking example of functional sculpture, where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design. Inspired by a simple fix on an old sauna ladle handle—secured with wire and everyday ingenuity—Heiki embodies the beauty of practical solutions transformed into art.

Freehand blown glass - each piece is unique and can not be replicated
Two colours
Heiki is characterised by the freehand blown body in which two colours meet. This meeting point is a beautiful place: depending on the hardness of the colour and the oxides within it, interesting things can happen.
Making holes
The piece is shaped and as a finishing touch two holes are stretched out of the glass to house the wooden handle.
Aspiring the perfect proportion
Heiki is designed to be born from a bubble- it has a heavy body and a smooth opening. Each piece is unique, giving space for the human touch and resulting in perfect variety.
